Garden waste clearance in Birmingham: what can and cannot be taken

Garden clearances are the job most often underestimated. Green waste is bulky, soil and rubble are heavy, and the two are charged very differently at the tip. Knowing what you have makes the quote accurate.
Taken as standard
Most garden jobs are a mix of green waste and old structures, and both go on the same van.
- Hedge cuttings, branches, turf and general green waste
- Old fence panels, decking, sheds and trellis
- Broken garden furniture, pots and play equipment
- Soil, rubble and hardcore — priced by weight
Needs specialist handling
Some materials cannot legally go on a general waste load. Asbestos garage roofs and cement sheeting need a licensed asbestos contractor. Japanese knotweed must be handled under a specific disposal chain. Paint, fuel and pesticides are hazardous waste and go to a dedicated facility. Tell us in advance and we will point you to the right route rather than turning up and refusing the load.
Getting an accurate quote
Photograph the garden from two ends, include anything heavy in the shot, and mention the access route — side gate width, steps, or whether everything has to come through the house. That is usually enough for a fixed price.
